I haven't really tried sketching actual people while outside before. Okay so maybe I had done so in the past but I just can't remember when. It's that long ago. So, just for kicks, I drew a couple of the passengers while on the train home from work. It's a bit small so I had to blow up the drawing a bit here.

This is my first try using a 0.5 mechanical pencil and my little A5 drawing pad. This lady was too busy reading that she didn't notice my repeated looks at her as my eyes dart between looking at her and my drawing pad.

This is REALLY good!
That's great to hear you are out 'quick sketching' while you are out there living life! If anything it's great practice. Back in the day before cameras were so cheap to use most everything printed was from sketches. Every newspaper would have several correspondants that would go out and make sketches for articles. Now in comparison live sketches are a lost art.

I love my personal quick sketches and story boards. I like to see that raw sketch the shows off an artist's gesture.
Nice! I could never get a from life sketch looking that good.

Thanks for saying it looks good. I thought the second one I did looked a lot better actually. ^^;;

Yeah. It is good for practice, definitely. :) I'm currently doing this so I can figure out how to draw more kinds of people in comics than the typical types I'm used to.

people don't like to acknowledge people on public transport. Its sad really.

This is very good indeed. :D

Thanks. :) That is so true specially outside of Canberra.

You're welcome. ^_^ I like the second one, too, but I don't know if one is better than the other.
